Fret Shop Custom Guitars

We are a working custom shop. We regularly build instruments for professionals to travel with that echo the sentiments of vintage styles yet are full of modern updates that allow the artist durability and precision unavailable in 50 year old technology.

We are often called upon to reproduce instruments that replicate those to valuable to take out on the road. Many of these instruments are currently on Tour with acts like Bob Seger 's Silver Bullet Band, and The Steve Earle Band.

We focus on bolt on solid body electric instruments in traditional shapes. We augment them with modern pickups, parts, and woods to create a marriage of old and new structures. The finishes can range from modern clean finishes over figured wood to accurate vintage recreations complete with distressed patinas.

The instruments we create are custom tailored to the artist and built one at a time. They are assembled entirely by hand with components chosen by our experience with stringent requirements for weight, composition, fit, and structure.

Our choices come from many years of bench time with the best vintage instruments and directly relate to the sonic requirements of the client. Attention to these minute details separate mass produced instruments from those made for an individual by experienced craftsmen. Thin nitrocellulose lacquer finishes and precise fretwork are the hallmarks of our instruments. They feel immediately like old friends and always sound amazing.
